Welcome to Dachshund Rescue Australia. Sometimes through no fault of their own our beloved breed are dumped in the pounds, abandoned, families break up, people move overseas or their owner has passed away and they find themselves without that comfy sofa, soft words and kind actions.
If you need to rehome your dachshund please do get in touch with us as we have many wonderfully dedicated dachshund people who would like to offer new homes.
There is no charge if you want to rehome your dachshund, although donations are always welcome. So please don’t dump them in the pounds where the environment is extremely stressful for this breed. It is much better if they go straight from your home into their new one, or if you are unable to keep your dachshund then we can arrange for a foster carer to look after them in the interim.
If you want to adopt a dachshund we now have a form which you can complete online. This helps us keep a record of your details so we can email you when a dachshund becomes available that may suit your family.
